There is a lot of DC Lights available on the market but are not that popular these days because of the costs of the lights and also the availability of the light tubes. Most people use the 220V Compact Florescent Lights through an inverter because the lights are available all over South Africa and they don’t have the problem of voltage drop over long distances.
Normally when you use DC Lights you have to
use much thicker cable to prevent voltage drop over long distances.
A lot of excising solar installations are already wired for DC Lights and
